When I grew up, we went to school
Tried each day to follow the rules
We did our best to live life right
So we could rest our little heads at night
We’d wake each morning to a brand-new day
Having no idea what would come our way
Teacher would close with some instructions to follow
And then she’d say “Goodbye, Until Tomorrow”
Tomorrow, tomorrow, I’ll see you then
Tomorrow, tomorrow, I’ll see you friend
Sometimes life makes pills too hard to swallow
So we’d have to say “Goodbye, Until Tomorrow”
Growing up we made some friends
Time flew by, we wished it would never end
We played some music and some videogames
Joke with each other about who was cool or lame
Then mom would show up and say “It’s time to go”
“Get in the car, we need to get on down the road”
Time seemed infinite; we didn’t know it was borrowed
So we’d say “Goodbye, Until Tomorrow”
Tomorrow, tomorrow, I’ll see you then
Tomorrow, tomorrow, I’ll see you friend
Sometimes life makes pills too hard to swallow
So we’d have to say “Goodbye, Until Tomorrow”
Growing up she did her best to raise us right
When we were kids, she’d tuck us in at night
She’d wake us up and then take us to school
Trying to instill values, telling us to follow the rules
Years later I got the call “you might want to come home”
“I hate to be the one to tell you but your mom’s already gone”
It all happened so sudden in the middle of the night
… She never had the chance to say “Goodbye”
Tomorrow, tomorrow, I’ll see you then
Tomorrow, tomorrow, I’ll see you friend
Sometimes life makes pills too hard to swallow
So I looked up and said “Goodbye, Until Tomorrow”
You never know who will be next to go
There are a lot of surprises coming down the road
So try to never end your day with a fight
Tell people you love them before you say “Good night”
One of these days an angel will guide us home
Unfortunately, in heaven there isn’t a phone
Looking down to Earth we’ll see loved ones in sorrow
Hopefully we had the chance to say “Goodbye, Until Tomorrow”
Yeah, hopefully we had the chance to say…
“Goodbye… Until Tomorrow”
