All the Lies are Just Whispers on the Wind
Time takes its toll on everything
different ways for different things
every second
something grows
something fades
endings birth new beginnings
words birth revolutions
actions birth consequences
They say history is written by the winners,
but history is not always truth
a memory is more honest then a book will ever be.
Our word is our bond
is our blood
and the only thing we have when we have nothing.
Words seem so simple yet they can change so much.
Words are not the only way we speak, and
motion and body language
can be false in what you give to another's eyes
Let go of your lies
free yourself from the verbal catastrophes
that cause torment seen and unseen
let those whispers fade on the wind.
Be who you are,
and the masks will no longer be needed
honor and trust can be worn as badges of pride, and
not a mask one must hide behind.
So when you speak , decide
will my words fade and be forgotten
will they be whispers upon the wind
or will they leave an impression
in the stones of time
that i want to be remembered by.
We can not control the stories that will be made up about us
or the lies that will be told,
but we need not not add fuel to the fire that burns our own reputation.
We must not cut ourselves with our own tongue.
