She sleeps in the shade of forgotten sorrows
the broken has been mended, but
some pains out last the novacaine.
The past has made her scared to dream, because
a nightmare lies within every silver lining
or so it seems
and even though I want my voice to be the wind that lifts her spiriits
I think its the shadows of her fallen past that push, and
push to keep me close yet so far away.
It is in between a blink of an eye,
just before she wakes,
that she is faced with all of the answers to what is to be
what was
what never will be a was
and when she awakens her split second nirvana
land with all the questions answered that you want
has disolved as the rays of sun break though the window panes, but
left her with enough left to let the imagination play with what it sees like a
toy found behind the tree
after all the other presents were unwrapped long ago on a faded christmas past
We know not what the future holds, but
she knows what the dream of her heart seeks.
