Tick Tock
The clock stops
The sky is falling
Come sit with me chicken little and let me tell you a story.
A story of a girl with beauty unmatched.
Wit as sharp as tack.
A smile that could melt the coldest heart,
and a laugh that could sooth any beast.
This girl is gone
and my heart she taketh with her.
She never left by choice,
but six feet within the soil deep
she has gone,
and what am I without her,
and I watch them lay her to rest
that pine box was never meant to hold such a beautiful soul.
As she is lowered into the ground to become cuisne for the magot kings
in my mind all that i see is the sky falling
the sky is falling
help me chicken little for I know not what to do.
In her eyes she held my oceans
And voice was like the wind whispering in your ear,
and even though I know it must be a lie I still hear those whispers right now.
She taught me the beauty of star and flower,
and showed me that a little dirt under your nails would not hurt.
Now as I sit here and that sky turns the greyiest shade of blue
She is in a better place , but that doesn't mean she doesn't mis me
and as a newborn angel sits upon the cloud and looks down upon the world left behind
one tear flows down her cheek
then another and another
until the cloud she rests upon can take it no more
and one by one they fall from the heavens to the Earth
and the calmest of rains drenches us
and they say its not the end of the world
but she was my world and in the end
it might not be Armageddeon for the masses,
but I am shattered within.
The newborn angel wipes one last tear from her eye
and it flies from her fingertips to the ground
I do believe the sky is falling,
and it has crushed my spirit and heart,
the world goes on they say,
but how does it without you?
