I can see what you’re thinking

It’s written in your eyes

And what I’m reading now

Seems to come as no surprise

You’d give me the world in a second

I’d hand it back just as fast

And your feelings for me within

Is too impossible to last

I’m not a creature from heaven

A saint or whatever you will

Please don’t take this personally

Your dreams are the last thing I wished to kill

You’ll find your heavenly being one day

I’m sorry I broke your heart

But you must have somehow realised
