How do you state your feelings

How do you say what you feel

What if they say no

What if they don’t care

But what if they like you too

And they can’t say what they feel

Neither tells the other

For fear of the word no

Such a tiny word

With such a huge meaning

But what if the response is yes

That would be a great feeling

To know what you feel

Is felt for you by another

I’ll say it here and now

I like you and want to be with you

Take it or leave it

 Answer as you wish

But please be kind

Go easy on me my friend

Answer only in truth

Don’t hurt my fragile heart

If you want to be mine

Or even if you don’t

Leave nothing unsaid

And just speak your mind

Don’t lie and say you do care

If you really don’t at all

Let me know how you feel

Because I feel that way too

Here is my heart

It has been battered and abused

Take it or leave it

But don’t take it out of pity

I want to be yours

That’s all I’m trying to say

There it is
