Is there a price on love
Something we must give
Is it really cheap
Or really high priced
Is it really large
Or erratically shaped
Maybe its not something bought
Or even literally given away
Could it possibly be an emotion
Maybe its something else entirely
It cannot be lust
For lust is far from real
Nor is it infatuation
That doesn’t last long enough
No its none of that at all
It's far more than that
To be loved in return
We mustn't give only love
If you want it to last
And be honestly and fully true
Then what you must give is an organ
One vital to your very existence
Yet you don’t give it literally
it is shown through years and emotions
What you give quite simply is your heart
Not so hard I hear you mutter
But of course it is - it always is
Nothing is ever as easy as it seems
You must trust the other a lot
For your heart is fragile you see
They can break it with a word
Or carry it to forever
So I suppose there is a price
A really big price on love
So watch your heart
A really big price on love
So watch your heart
Don’t let it be led astray
Because as you see my friend
There is a price for love
