To My Friend(s)

Never have I had love

Like the love that I have

For you

And so when you hurt

I hurt

And I can’t take the hurt anymore

I can’t cry inside anymore

I can’t cradle the pain anymore

The burden

The torture

To see you cry kills me

Murderous to my soul

I so badly want to reach inside of you and caress your emotions

To make them pure again

To bring back the woman I admire

The woman with the strength that I marvel at

That strong

Woman

Your smile has diminished

And your eyes no longer glow

They only reveal the constant agony

Jealousy

Fury

Your laugh has faded

Into a cold snarl

And your body reflects the deterioration of your spirit

I’ve lost my hold on you

And I’m oblivious to the right words

To calm you

To warm you

To let you know that you’ll be alright

You’ll be alright

Friends like you are in continually short supply. Your desires and frustrations are capturedly beautifully here. I hope Rachel has read this, so she knows how what she is going through is putting YOU through pain as well.

Bleh. I'm getting squishy now. Excellent poem.
