I gave him my heart and he held the key,

but a heart full of hurt was all he gave me.
he said that he loved me but it did not show,

so all I could do was pack up and go.

After many years of anger

and all the endless crying.
I felt like I was worthless,
and I felt like I was dying.

My self-esteem was gone,
and trust I had no more.
I felt like I was nothing,
right down to the core.

And then one day you came to me,
you've shown me real love

and everyday I can say,

I thank the lord above.

You are my friend,
my love, and my light.
You are the one that
makes me shine bright.

Now I am happier
than ever before.
And I will love you today,
tomorrow and forever more.
