As artisan de tristesse, I'm sure I sought out silence
-for companionship- when exploring hollow voids;
and acquainted loneliness: its ever-present kin.
But, for hours now, I've stared into a glass,
-jaw clenched- willing it to break, while
thinking: maybe brittle shards will ease the ache.
Watching the juice of my essence mix to make a cocktail
with the tears I do not shed: because Eve wept
of luscious berries; that I may bleed
In knowledge of a silence that never knew such comfort(.)
as the ruby-liquid swirls; that stain with every circuit
to vanish, into morning, without trace.
