It’s always over in a minute

It’s always over in a minute

But her scars take forever to heal

Once it’s done she sits and cries all alone

Just begging that it wasn’t real

She wakes up in the morning

Bruises now set on her face

Father makes her stay home from school

Her heart is in a dark place.

She might be able to forgive…

If it didn’t happen everyday

What did she ever do?

To deserve a man like you

A father to destroy her life

To keep her up in fear, every night

To make her think that there’s more love

In the blade of this knife.

Now little Suzy, she’s only 12

She’s getting beaten like all hell

Her mother thinks she’s outta control

Because she tried to come out of her shell

She’s in her room all alone crying

She’s making herself bleed this time

She cuts herself to cause a pain,

Greater then the one in her mind

What did she ever do?

To deserve a woman like you

A mother to destroy her life

To keep her up in fear, every night

To make her think that there’s more love

In the blade of this knife.
