Looking in the mirror she can see
the little girl that she use to be.
The dresses and her family’s lovin'
And the aroma of cookies bakin' in the oven.
But there's a stranger lookng back,
a girl she doesn't want to be.
In fact, she despises her,
and self-esteem she lacks.
Seventeen with a horrible past.
In her class the boys, they call her dumb
It makes her emotional highs go numb.
Grabbing a tylenol, not thinking anything
she downs half a bottle not knowing what it can bring
A strange rollercoaster high -
she just holds on and escaping from her mouth comes a sigh
Sitting in the chair, she starts to cry
the feeling sweeps over her, like she's about to die.
She looks in the mirror with a huge long smile
Looking back at her is a scared little child.
