i once heard that the artist and the poet will be suffering among the damned when the war to end all wars ends

but if the war to end all wars is ever to end, does that signify that wars begin again?

and why in the hell would the poet and the artist be burning beneath the horizon created by brimstone

whatever did they do besides manifest an idea or two, and then it hit me as i sat and dined alone

the artist paints his picture and sculpts his naked man

and the poet writes in question form answers he'll never understand

one man reads these words and thinks his mother never loved him so

and the other sees something more humorous, like a naked clown thats kneeding dough

yet another sees a pasture full of vegetation like a rainbow

and he sees a stubborn yard thats in trecherous need of a mow

then words are exchanged, heated arguments encure

then someone casts a hand to strike at something once made pure

then eventually blood is spilled, and someone has to take the blame

look to the poet and the artist, after all they singed their name
