Took the bus to the river front drive
threw a quarter to the kids who were sleeping outside
had a handle on the night or at least i was told
stopped to look into the windows where they say the music died
my soul intention, never will i mention
i've included that theory since my blurry younger days
shook hands, had a beer and conversation
with a friend who's fallen victim to his own wicked ways
we had a laugh and then we started back
down the street in the rain to the place he called home
"its not much, but it keeps me dry
and out here in the street i know i'll never be alone"
forget the boredom, forget the hesitation
set your mind down to the Union bus station
I know a place called Pamela Circle
theres a warm heart and an open door always waiting.
