Living in the past

   is the safest way to never live

No risk means no pain,

   no death means forever live

The cheapest way to cash in

   is to never buy at all

If you never stand

   then it won't hurt when you fall

Struck by cupid of the damned

How fast they fall, the mighty

When they see it's all a sham

If you never sleep

   then your dreams can't be broken

And words can't betray you

   if they are never spoken

Cry for the living,

   lament for the dead

You know something was left behind

   but you keep looking ahead
