I was searching through eternity
Frantically for completion through creation
Seeking to defy conformity
Though I couldn't face my own indignation
Her fingertips
Touched with blackness
That swallows up my dreams of heaven
I was searching for my resonance
My pennance for accepting deformity
But all I found here was dissonance
Another chance, another eternity
Her fingertips
They burn her too
But she can't get herself to put them out
Hanging here alone
Solicitude
Spinning and singing to myself
I was searching for my unity
But when I found it it wasn't in my self
I fell despite my immunity
My Self was not my Self that I thought it was
She feels my pain
When I miss her
Through my self-imposed exile
Her dreams are gone
So she'll take mine
And put them in her little shiny box
I was searching through her entity
And in her I found what I had searched for
But I only found a reflection of me
Rejection of perfection, and then I searched for more
I'm sorry
But I can't stop
We've fallen too far down to feel ourselves
I feel your pain
In your fingertips
Swallowing my dreams of levity
