That very first time
I reached out to you
The darkest night
Revealed the light
Brought the truth
Into view

I took your hand
Sharing your problems
I tried to understand
And I tried to solve them
And through that
We began to see
That maybe there was more
To you and me

I was drowning in my own
Self inflicted problem
I felt so alone
But you came to me and said
"Your problems are mine as well"
Just like I'd done for you
That night
And I'll do for the rest of my life.
