I feel so close to you
Much closer than touch could ever bring us
It makes me want to hold my breath
And not move
For fear that you're a dream
That might simply disappear
I don't mean to ask for much
Just the assurance of hearing your voice
For the tomorrows to come
I can't be certain
What those tomorrows might bring
But I won't borrow trouble
Or worry about our tomorrow
For worrying does nothing
I'll take you in my heart
And place you in God's hands

I hope this can last all these days on earth
Though they're tragedy filled
I hope that I can show you your worth
Though you feel worthless still
I promise you're not
You've brought me back into perspective
Yet I still hear all their voices
Telling me I need to be selective
The thing is I have and I'll disregard their judgments
For I happened upon you
And you're more than what I want
Even in your absence I feel you
And even if I had to wait a long time
It's something I would do
Cause once you've found the real thing
There can never be any substitute
Think me insane, but it's the very truth

I was falling into a darkness
And forgetting who I was
But you came and your voice pulled me out
And brought me back into the light
I know you'll shake your head and deny it
But please don't
You don't have to be perfect
To show someone the pure, endless light
You just have to be willing to just be
Just like we were that night
There are few things as precious to me as that was
Because I felt so close to you
