Better times from the past, I come to feel
The times I can't remember, but are kept inside
But I could never tell you, these feelings that I hide
The notes and chords that you play,
Remind me of a summer day
When I first saw your face.
You laugh and smile, as we play guitar together
You place my fingers on the correct strings,
Oh can this please last forever?
It's far beyond me, how this feeling can be
So beautiful and keep me right on key
I wonder what you're thinking
As my thoughts are drifting.
Are yours drifting too, as you keep making mistakes?
Or am I just too hopeful, in the music that we make?
My mind is reeling now that I'm alone
As it goes to every area unknown.
It's shady when it comes to you,
Will you be just another mistake, or something new?
Is this worth the risk, I may never know
So I'll see what you do before giving it a go.
To put my tired mind to rest I'll lay down my head,
