Once Upon Series

With eyes that shine like the moon on the sea,
It's hard to imagine that they're looking at me.
My heart beats fast and the world spins around,
I feel like I'm on a rollercoaster ride as my heart pounds.
I close my eyes and the butterflies flutter,
My words come out wrong because I can't help but stutter.
As I hear your voice I can't help but grin,
Still, I won't let my heart win.
To see you again has overwhelmed me,
When I look at you, I wonder if you see what I see.
I'm just a hopeless romantic who's sworn to stay away
From any type of love, because no one ever stays.
Your hand touched mine, and you apologized
I smiled to myself because there was no need to
I looked back at you and into your eyes
And brought myself back to all I knew to be true.
I'm waiting for a prince who will fight on my behalf,
Not scary dragons, but for my heart and to make me laugh.
With a kind heart and a smile so breath taking,
One who's not known for stealing and heart breaking.
And though I may ask for a lot, I still believe
That I don't ask for too much, I won't be deceived.
Deep down inside it's you I hope for,
So don't let me down, I've got my heart set on yours.

Author's Notes/Comments:

This is based upon what happened after my other poem, "Once Upon Alive" so, yes, true story. To both of them. I'm cheesy, but enjoy :)
