Watching the cars speed by in the city,
There's something that it does to me.
The sound of people who are rather busy,
Makes me wonder why.
I want to go back to the way it had been,
In the past, called way back when
Where neighbors were also the dearest of friends.
Now there's fences to keep others out,
And flashing streetlights on what was once a beautiful route,
What has happened to us? What is this all about?
More into the hustle and bustle of life,
Than the values we once adored
It's becoming harder to survive,
It's more than we can afford.
Lets return to the days where campfires would blaze
And we'd lie in the grass and stargaze.
The fireflies, moon, and stars
Our only source of light
Catching them in jars,
To keep all through the night.
I miss, I miss those times I do
Sitting inside drinking hot cocoa with you.
As winters frost nipped at our noses
We'd cuddle by the fire, and keep cozy.
But now it seems daily things keep us busy,
The hustle and bustle of the city
It seems we've ran short of a thing called time
Please take me back, I want to rewind.
It can be real, and not just in my mind
Lets slow down and enjoy this life.
