How can you see when the light has burnt out, life full of uncertainty, despair and much doubt.
Sadness is swirling all around; the chains on my life are keeping me bound.
My life out of control, the bottle having its way, the sunny, blue skies have all turned to grey.
The feeling of guilt as I take one more drink, my world’s falling further, with each time I blink.
How do I get better, how do I get aid, I need Your help fast as my days continue to fade.
I call out Your name in a powerless scream, Is this real life or a horrifying dream.
Back to the gavel, its judgment day, I feel tired and hopless, overcome with dismay.
How on Earth did this happen, how did this become life, what is less painful, the gun or the knife.
All of a sudden, like a thief in the night, You gave me my life back, you brought back my sight.
I see everything clearer, all my paths were made straight, You came at the right time not too early or late.
I know now you have saved me for a much larger goal, you put back all the pieces and my my life whole.
Thank you will never do justice enough, You never let go when the going got rough.
I love you My Savior for now and forever, I will spread the word of how you made my life better.
I pray all come to know You and see all your power and love, I love you Jesus, my Father above.
