CORNER STORE GIRL

Folder:
COUNTRY POEMS

I walked in the door of the corner store.
The store on the avenue,
the girl behind the counter, wow look at you.
Your face, the most beautiful thing in this place.
An asian delight, can make day from the night.

Corner store girl.

She gave me a smile, across the aisle.
I waited see, until it was just her and me.
A beautiful face and hair, all I could do, true, was stare.
She was somebody I could not ignore.
I almost dropped to the floor.

Corner store girl.

Just went in for a snack. Just went in for a bite to eat.
She was a treat. She was neat. She was a real delight.
I asked her her, name. I asked if she wanted to play the game.

Corner store girl.

She was beautiful from hoe to toe. Someone I really want to get to know.
She was beautiful from toe to head. I think of her in bed.
All the places we could go. All that we could do.
I will no more be blue.
Corner store girl.
