FREIGHT TRAIN

It runs on days of sun.
I am sure people think it's fun.
It runs in the rain. Then, it must be a pain.
It runs in the snow. Slow it must go.

It runs to and from the ocean.
It runs to and from the sea.
It brings things to you. Yes, that's what it does do.
It brings things to me. I hope you see.

It runs during the day.
It goes a long way.
It runs at night. The light is big and bright.

It can bring things that are cold.
It has cars that refrigerate. I think that's really great.
Lettuce from California.
Corn, grain, and wheat, from Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, really neat.
It has cards that carry coal, wood, milk

A train that's long. A train that's strong
It stretches a mile, all the smiles of the people it passes by.
You can see it, in their eyes.
