A BOY FROM ILLINOIS

Folder:
COUNTRY POEMS

                       I'm a boy from Illinois.

                            Downstate.

                       Downstate is not great.

This town so small.  I need to get away from it all.  I think I'm going to fall.

My life is not a farm.  Alarm.

There's nothing to do.  Yes, it's true.  I'm blue.

Nothing here ever goes on.  A long night until the dawn.

I have a lot of fear.

                     Chicago.

Of big cities in the country, it is three, see.

It's the best, gets my heart pumping in my chest.

Yes, thats where I want to go.

There's see, for me, so much to see.  There's so much to do.

                   Day.

             I love to play.

All the museums, the zoo, there's so much to do.  I'll never be through.

Navy Pier.  I have no more fear.

                 There's so much to view.

                    Every day is new.

                    Beside this lake of blue.
