               Texas football is Friday night games under

                         the lights so bright.

       It's the quarterback who can throw the ball so far.

          He's on his way to being a college superstar.

                  It's the Lord's prayer read.  

   It's children up way past the time they would be in bed.

         It's the National anthem sang.

It's the football players hitting against each other, clang.

It's that long touchdown pass or run.

  It's so much fun!



                  It'a the roar of 80,000 and more.

                    The crowd, so loud they scream.

              To win it all, is what every player dreams.

                 See, it's games on national TV.

               It's the annual Texas-Oklahoma game.

                    All the fans going insane.

Played at the Texas state fair.  

All the thousands and thousands of people there.

                

     It's Dallas winning the Super Bowl game over and over.

             Emmit Smith, Troy Aikman, Michael Irvin,

             Jerry Jones

           all those familiar names in every home.

It's that familiar star that everybody knows near and far.

It's that familiar dome.  So many people think of, as

             another home.



                               It's men.  It's women.

                               It's Black.  It's White.  

                              Games played during the day.  

                              Games play at night.

                            It's families, see.  

                            It's young.  It's old.

                 A story, over and over and over told.

       It's couples on a date.  They, stay up, so late.

                             It's so, so, so great.

                   It really holds together the state.



                       It's Texas football!
