I'LL BE HOME TONIGHT

Folder:
COUNTRY POEMS

It's been a long, long, flight.

It's been a long, long, fight.

It's been a long, long, night.

And, it has'nt been a delight.

        I'll be home tonight.

We have'nt seen each other in a while.

There have been between us, no smiles.

There have been between us, thousands of miles.

        I'll be home tonight.

It's so hard on a heart.

It's so hard to be apart.

I must confess, words can't express how I feel.

It's worse than a fast food meal.

It's worse than losing on Let's Make A Deal.

It's so hard to go on.  A long night before the dawn.

         I'll be home tonight.

        It though will be hate.

A time that you will late.

You'll get to see your mate.

I really hate all the places I have to go.

        Sometimes, that is fate.

         I'll be home tonight.

You can run from these feelings, but you can't hide.

I'm glad that we did'nt divide.

It's good that in each other, we can confide.

On the road it's hard to find,

this love that for each other, we provide.

            I'll be home tonight.

A love that we did make.

A love that's real and not fake, one impossible to shake.

We are like a rock.  We remember that as we talk.

When we are alone, we remember talking on the phone.

         Oh, I'll be home tonight.

        Yeah, I'll be home tonight.
