NOBODY LAUGHED

Folder:
ABSTRACT POEMS

I made a joke at work today.

I thought it was a good joke.

It had timing, follow through, and a great punchline.

It was making a joke based on

        the Wendy's finger thing.

        But, but, nobody laughed.

        There was nothing.

         Nothing but silence.

         Silence as loud as thunder.

I do not take it personally though.

       No, I don't.

       Patrick Henry

made his famous Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death speech,

      nobody laughed either.

      Nobody said a thing.

      There was nothing but silence.

You are so right in a situation like you described, silence is as loud as thunder!
