DON'T COME KNOCKING

COUNTRY POEMS

             She said.

Don't be like my dog Rover, and roll over.

I don't want to see you, anymore.

Please do not be a ghost, and my house haunt.

             You, I do not want.

             Don't come knocking.

Please don't be like a mouse,

             and invade my house

No, I will not change my mind.

It is over, you could see it, even if you were blind.

Yes, another girl you will need to find.

The movie is over, but there is no button

             to start over and rewind

Dinner is over; we dined, and now,

             there is no dessert.

You, near me, I do not want to find, anymore.

On you, I have shut the door.

Get me out of your mind.

You are what I see, in my mirror behind.

No, our lives are no longer intertwined.

             Don't come knocking.

Don't come knocking on my door.

Or, I will knock you out to the floor.

If this is a boxing match, the winning point

           I will score.

If you come knocking at my door, like

a sea lion, I will roar.

I will be asleep, and you will hear me snore.

               Don't come knocking.

              Just stop talking.

You are the dust, I am mopping.

You are the rust off the car, I am scraping.

You are the tar, cleaning off the street.

You are a mistake, I will not repeat.
