       You are a teacher.

       Maybe a elementary school

       Maybe a high school US History teacher

       But, a teacher.

       Every day you have students to teach.

       Students that want to learn.

       If they do not, you need to help them want to.

       Sometimes, you learn too.



        You can go home,

        but you never stop working.

        You are always there.

        Thinking, worrying, planning

        The kids are always with you.

        You love them all, even when you hate them.

        You don't want to get personally involved, but you do.

        You cry when they do, when something goes wrong

        in their family.

        The good things, the awards they win.

        If you're lucky enough, that a student tells you,

        he wants to be just like you,

        a US history teacher like you,

        You cry.
