My Other Half

My other half goes by many names,

but I don't know a single one.

He is missing, but I find him

in the eyes of everyone I've ever loved.

He is here, but he is gone

He never died and was never born.

He is a mystery I seek to unfold.

I miss him more than he could ever know.

He is good, as much as he is bad,

He is air and he is fire

and I am of the earth and the oceans.

I am trapped, while he is set free.

I wonder if he seeks to find me.

I wait around biding my time,

Wondering if I will ever find that which is mine.

I waste my beauty and my youth and essence

On some useless endeavors

but our completed love will return me to phosphorescence.

I'm sorry that I left or that you did.

I'm sorry you can't seem to organize some strange reunion.

I hope that our souls intertwine once more.

No matter how far I stray on this troubled path

Come seek to find what has always been yours.

Come seek to find what fate has in store

I imagine you in front of heavenly gates

I cry for us, I cry to wait.

I am elevated on the clouds above,

when I meditate on our secret love
