Empty streets that I walk down,
Nothing here, no one around.
Echoing sound of silence Itself,
This dead-end road receives no help.
Darkened windows In every house,
Locked up doors to keep you out.
Dark consuming everything,
Consuming, we all become nothing.
A world once full of life,
The dark came and engulfed the light.
Dead eyed people going on their way,
Living like zombies from day to day.
Opinions and emotions left for dead,
No more smiles, nor tears to shed.
Freedom of speech is no longer free,
No one cares for you or me.
If we are to live in a hollow world,
Where lives are taken and abuse is hurled.
Why must we still kneel down and obey?
When only on the surface are things okay.
Deep within the pool of lies,
The truth is bound, it's no surprise.
Through years of neglect we are now the prey,
I fear it will always be this way.
We fought for so long to ensure our rights,
It seemed so hard, yet so worth the fight.
Those rights were swiftly snatched away,
No care taken, in this game that they play.
Now we must surrender to the dark in our souls,
Society will crumble, be eaten whole.
The animals among us have reared their heads,
And you are left with no power, just fear and dread.
