A confound Hippo
Once upon a time there was a lake in which a hippopotamus lived with his friends, the frog and the snake. One day the hippopotamus wasn’t feeling conformable with himself, so his friends worried about him. The frog said to the hippo, are you feeling right? Then the snake told him “We are a bit worried about you, you don’t look happy”. So the hippo replied: “Actually I am not feeling quite well with myself. Sometimes I think I should be a bit more brave”. The frog replied, “What are you talking about, you are so brave”. “I am not the bravest” said the hippo. So the frog replied “You are brave!”.
The next morning the hippo arrived with his friends dress as a lion. Everyone was surprised, so the frog asked him “why are you dress as a lion?” and he replied: ”because I want to be the bravest animal”. Then after talking with his friends he realized that he still hasn’t felt as the bravest animal! What made him feel depress and confused.
After some time, the snake and the frog were passing by the lake and they saw the hippo dress as a cheetah. What surprised them so they were quickly with the hippo and asked him gently: “Why are you dress like this?” Ashamed for being a slow hippo he answered: “I want to be the fastest hippo on earth”. Then the frog replied: You don’t need to dress as a cheetah to be the fastest! And the snake added: “Just because you are dressing as a cheetah doesn’t make you faster!. Disappointed the hippo threw away his costume and leaved crying.
After a while of thinking about this the confused and sad hippo decided to go visit the sage of the town, the owl, to see if he could help him. When the owl saw him arriving he supposed that something wrong was going on with him, by the way he was walking… At the moment he arrived the owl asked him: “Why are you so melancholic?” then the hippo told him that he tried hard to be the bravest and the fastest animal in the world but he couldn’t. So the owl told him that what he was trying to do was completely pointless since he was trying to be someone he isn’t. After a long talk with the owl the hippo realized that
…And the moral of the story is that the way you look has nothing to do with the way you are.
