Everyone stood around
while the fuse was lit
waiting to be moved
or stuck in awe
but instead of any of that
they let a sigh when
the fuse ran out
and the explosion was all like
"naw"
I see a lot of myself in that
A lifetime leading to some great explosion,
you can feel the spark
ready set to explode at any moment
but what you've really learned is that you're
an anticlimactic showman
There's no great fire show
There's no more fuse to burn
only the life to live
and the uneasy feeling
of yearning
