Settlers

In order to settle down

You first have to settle,
Forget the act of rushing
Or minding others medal
Because in order to start learning
What it takes to finally settle
You grasp at straws,
You take wrong turns,
You're lost until one day
You finally learn that the Earth
Is the one moving
So you can take it easy
Maybe watch your favorite movie
Or something else equally cheesy,
But no matter what you do
In your road to settling
You have to keep finding roses
And attempt to keep petaling
Figuratively
Mentally
Spiritually
I'm partially moved to act
But the counter attack
Of those who laugh
Are the same ones who ask
"Why you mad?"
As if I'm the one
Who's spoiled rotten, gone bad
So despite what they say
And the words that they choose
And the race that they place
Or the punctuation used
I want you to only do one thing
Speak truth
And settle.
Author's Notes/Comments:

Felt like writing something a little different than my normal style.
