My Emancipation

Chained no longer to the pain,

To the tears that fell like rain.

I've taken the final measure,

To instead find only pleasure.

To live my life, no more in vain.

Too many of my years were spent,

With emotions, less than content.

Now those days are at last finished,

My heart's no more so diminished,

Nor a victim of such hurtful torment.

For now I've taken back my life,

Done away with all that punishing strife.

I'm emancipated now from the years,

That brought me, way too many tears.

And cut my soul, like a sharpened knife.

So now at last, its the time for me,

To finally be happy...finally be free.

To say goodbye to all the hurting,

To begin my soul re-building asserting,

Of the person, I've so longed to be!
