I watched their movement from my window,
the rustling of the leaves.
They danced and twisted effortlessly,
keeping rhythm with the breeze.
I watched a squirrel scamper up,
precariously on a branch.
He jumped from one to the other,
taking a risky chance.
I watched a bird hover over,
then glide into its nest.
It arranged its wings in the bedding,
and settled in for a rest.
I watched a bee buzz around,
then head into its hive.
This tree that moments before was silent,
had suddenly come alive.
I watched in silent awe,
as all the species continued to roam.
So many creatures inhabited this place,
and considered it their home.
