Oh the sounds of summer,
fill the very air.
Laughter in the playgrounds,
from all the children there.
Ice cream trucks that come around,
and play a simple tune.
The chirping of the crickets,
tell the evenings coming soon.
The sound of a crackling campfire,
as embers burn and snap.
The rhythmic beat of a woodpecker,
as his beak he quickly taps.
The hooting of an owl,
so wise up in a barn.
The hum of a big old tractor,
working on the farm.
Splashing water in the pools,
on beaches and in lakes.
Its all a part of summers serenade,
and the sweet song that it makes.
