Hopscotch boards,
we drew with chalk.
Throwing our pebbles,
on the sidewalk.
Playing dress-up,
to be a little miss.
Chasing the boys,
to try and steal a kiss.
Blowing big pink bubbles,
with our chewing gum.
Just a few things,
I did when I was young.
A game of hide-n-seek,
sunny days in the park.
We wouldn't go home,
till it was almost dark.
Hearing the ice-cream man,
when he would ring his bell.
We'd run to get our money,
for the treats that he did sell.
Thinking back with a smile,
of the childish songs we sung.
Just a few more things,
I did when I was young.
