They decided to create all sort of animals, making them all good and giving them the capacity of thinking and speaking. All this creatures lived in harmony and where helpful between each other, they all gathered to thank the gods for giving them life each day. All of the gods gathered to receive the tribute that the animals would offer with a lot of effort, thanking them because of the happy life they were living. Because of their successful creation the gods decided to give them a single wish, they thought that by giving them such opportunity they would ask something to benefit all the animals. All of the animals had different ideas, the owl wanted to be the most intelligent creature in earth, the lion wanted to rule the world, in fact every animal wanted something that would only be good for themselves. The animals made a reunion to establish what they would do with the wish. Some days passed and they didn’t agree in how to spend the wish; finally they made a decision, but they didn’t count with the selfish plans of the skunk, who didn’t went to the reunion and wanted the wish only for him, he wanted to be powerful in some way and was thinking of persuading each specie so that he could have the wish, promising things he would never keep. The animals started planning the ceremony to call the gods and the skunk convinced the animals of giving him the wish, none of the animals knew that he had promise the same thing because they were keeping it as a secret. The day of the ceremony came and the animals made the call to the gods, which soon realized the plans of the skunk and how he lied to all the animals, the gods became really mad and disappointed, all the animals were selfish and were only thinking of their benefit. So as a punishment they decided to divide the continents separating the species, they created natural disasters and diseases. Finally they punished the skunk and taking in account his wish of being powerful, they decided to give him a powerful odor that will repel everyone and condemn him to a solitary life.
