This was a submission for a vocal contest. Was put together quickly as the contest didn't give us much time.
A thousand screams
Hear them plead for some control
You can feel their hearts tremble
Their eyes are made of glass
Unable to relinquish the past
Her son has departed this life
Before he drew his first breath
This life is a storm that never dissapates
A truth unveiled to put you in your place
Such a lonely way to die
They only loved you for your lie
When all is revealed
Your pathetic life will be sealed
In an unmarked grave
In an abandoned field
I wait in the midst of their disaster
With wounds that fester
They blister inside of my skin
I am left with nothing relevent
Show me how it is
To never be completed
To die with nothing to live for
To stand unchained
Show me in your eyes
When you finally cross over
Only in death
May we find salvation
Show me in your eyes
When you finally cross over
Only in death
May we find salvation
This life is a storm that never dissapates
A truth unveiled to put you in your place
Such a lonely way to die
They only loved you for your lies
When all is revealed
Your pathetic life will be sealed
In an unmarked grave
In an abandoned field
This is the best poem I have
This is the best poem I have read from you. Great work! It flows well and has plenty of real, deep emotion. That is true poetry. I should be posting my first new poem in almost five months by this weekend by the way.
That is great news! I have
That is great news! I have been neglecting my writing because I've been so busy. This is one of my oldest poems that I turned into a song for a competition. I appreciate the read and the comments, man.
