Beaded Doorways

Beaded Doorways

sphagnum moss drifts randomly

from oaks reflecting

caressing raw extrusions

drawing off covert emotions

spent in self-indulgent bouts

gossamer strands soon saturated

dropped to warp the weave

of other carpet laying fools

spending cheap emerging passion

for those who walk barefoot

heedless of the cost of cushion

the price of protection

or the synapse laden threads

throughout matted enveloping armors

drawing heat from waning twilight

unable to spark through static

or other means the charge that

brings the muse to consciousness

and keeps the dream alive

Author's Notes/Comments:

Not one of my better poems, but one of my earliest.  It relies far too heavily on modifiers and dosn't particularly have many effective poetic devices.  Just placed here to show where I've come from and hopefully you'll agree many of my newer poems are far better than this.
