Plays music on the water

Fresh and crystal clear

It fills my cupped hands like nectar

Winter's ice chokes the pipes

And cracks the cement bowl

The melody is altered

Now played in a minor key

Springtime buds and summer foliage

Autumn's drying, dying leaves

Years finally stop the flow of the fountain

Where today, a water lily bloomed
