Five years ago 'cross the table around

There was a boy that I knew not at all

I fell in love at first sight, at first glance

He never knew I'd become his best friend



Our closeness, it grew, just as my love did

If he only knew what I would've done for him

Rejection, it seems, became more of a friend

He never knew that hearts break, they don't bend



I wanted to feel less hurting and pain

So I found a boy who would love me the same

It seems that our friendship could not withstand

Now that he knows the hurt I felt years past
