lights burn brighter, that walk across the street
the way you cling by my side as we run in laughter
and my hopes in you are forever like that fountain

for you are a light among the songs of this earth
always hoping for the best, immovable in your courage
shimmering like the reflections on the pool
hope and inspiration line your soul
always and forever

your little grin as you make the word shine
long nights by your side watching your favorite
and as you lay, motionless at night - little belly full of pizza
i cannot help but enjoy the precious look on your face
you are a tower of youth, with a heaping spoon of sweet

my dear son, i love you more than the world-

and as this year comes to a close, i hope the best
as we move into this new year.
