Its almost midnight in Madrid

On A long, dark, lonesome, road

Sad girl is walking barefoot

Down the only path that she knows

And ain't it sad, her barren life

Cannot match her fruitful mind

This ain't the life she thought it be

But its to late to rewind

Now all the neon lights go down

and the curfew whistle blows

Restless beggers fill the street

Stealing bread crumbs from the crows

She lost everything she ever had

to the toss of a dreaded dice

Now she walks each step alone

Maybe next time she'll think twice

She left home so early

Moved to Spain to marry

wanted to start a family

Now she tries to lift her head high

to see the moonlit autumn sky

Thats a lesson in itself

She had to learn it the hard way

And now she's all by herself

But you know she'll keep on dreaming

Maybe thats all she needs

Will it get her very far?

We'll just have to wait and see
