Iraqis Vote

They vote! - Iraqis vote, - go to the polls

To vote - they vote! - with freedom as their goal;

First voting  after years of tyranny,

To gain this infinitely precious liberty.

But they prepare,- and make their peace with God,

Life is at stake - so perilous the vote!

Dark forces threaten, - murderous bullets zoom,-

A hapless simple move may bring swift doom

But they will vote - determined, pied-à-terre,

At polling station  - see young woman dare

To stare down monsters of insurgency,

And foes and murderers of liberty.

The atmosphere is one of angst and dread,

A pivot turning point,- a watershed,

The murderers desire anarchy

And terror's reign, and not democracy.

Massive security our troops provide,

And risk their lives for it by day and night,

In tasks demandingt heroicity

To give oppressed a people liberty

Example for the world that idly sits

Upon its hands with neither spine nor grits,

And spits into the winds, while milksops  cry:

“Our profitable bargains went  awry”!

Annoyed, is disconcerted  KGB,-

Still vigorous in its longevity,

It licks  its wounds - Yuschenko is now boss

in the Ukraine, and rascals feel their loss,

Good is the French Bourbon for those in pain,

When profitable deals go down the drain,-

But Bourbon and Vin Blanc will soon  console

So many a disappointed battered soul.

Event historic! - fear is everywhere,

The women are the bravest as they dare

Despite explosions promised to resound,

And blood to flow upon the polling ground..

All in the name of Allah - slaughtering

Beheading slowly and insidious kidnapping,

For Allah’s glory who must be so pleased

With massacres and slaughter ritualist!

.

Ill wishers, wishing failure, full of guile,

Stand idly watching by and chafe and rile,

While Iraq’s men and woman stand in line

To vote, for freedom,- Hail to guts and spine!

And as these brave are headed to the polls,

May God protect their bodies and their souls!

Throughout the so decisive perilous vote

For freedom - the most precious gift of God!.
