Remembrance

Remembrance for the many does imply

Remembering  a loved one absentee,

Who passed, and is recalléd mentally

By friends, companions and family.

But Oh! - in the perspective biblical

Remembrance has much different a sense.-

Implies a sense of Present  Actual,-

A Trust that begs for a  continuance.

By its effects right in the here and now,

It's operative and definitive,

Beyond the bounds of time it does bestow

The means for man salvation to achieve.

“Remember me” - the Lord said on that Eve

Before the sacrifice was to be brought,

“Remember me“- so spoke the dying thief,

And hoped for more than some emotive thought.

Remembrance solely will never do

The All-in-All is in the Present Mode,

And hopes and dreams that mankind does pursue

Find their fulfillment in a Present God.
