For the Marine's Sake
Deep meditation’s prayer brought its fruit,
The saintly man, enraptured, glory viewed,
Unveiled to him before his dazzled sight
Were things that are to common men denied.
Delight, elation, blissful ecstasy,
He tasted and drank deep from mystery,
And in transported rapture’s joy he cried:
Remain, oh vision stay with me, abide!
But while yet relishing delight, he heard:
“A thing of more import should be preferred,
Your vision showed you all that you can take
But now cut lose, let go friend and forsake!”
“Forget angelic choirs sweet and bright,
Cloud Nine, forego perception’s brilliant light,
Direct your faculties to now perceive
A needy chap is tugging on your sleeve.!”
This for the monk -- but to the Patriot
Were given ah! so different words by God:
“A battle is ranging gainst a vicious foe
That valiant soldiers try to overthrow”
“But brass corrupt, milk and exploit mistake,
Sue the Marine, that shot a rattle snake“.
“Forget roast Turkey and fresh baby beans
And chubby angels rolling down the screens”
“Its time of war, and our soldiers bleed,
It is support and prayer that they need.
Stand up! - defend the brave Marine maligned.
By fops that in stuffed arm chairs comfort find.
Give the Marine a medal and loud cheers!
He saved his life and that of battling peers;
From living booby traps that detonate,
While waving a white flag in murdrous hate.
The Media Elite shows us relentlessly
What an obtrusive camera has caught,
But of beheadings and atrocity
And mutilated corpses it shows naught.
Oh brace against the Media Elite,-
Divested, dispossessed of shame and wit.,-
"Discern the Spirits - the Apostle wrote;
Distinguish between mountain deer and goat".
To sue physicians is improbity
So battling heroes is apostasy!
