Easter Miracle A.D.2000

A loving father holds at last in arm

His little son and cradles him secure

And keeps him from exposure’s hurt and harm

The Lord has heard the crying of the poor.

The Lord had seen the bold conceited city

Hardened its dwellers’ heart like pharao’s

But on the humble father He took pity,

And taught the proud intransigent let go.

He sent His angels, who did fast appear

As His appointed agents in disguise

Festooned with guns and military gear,

They would his bidding promptly realize.

Praise to the Lord!- they did   fulfill His plans

And purpose, - to the haughty town’s dismay;

And brought the child into his father’s tents,

Sing to the Lord this joyous Easter Day.!
